Comprehensive Care of People Living With HIV/AIDS & Family
- Medical Care – Supportive Drugs other than Anti Retro Viral Therapy (ART), assistance for other ailments of the patients, referral services
- Counseling for accepting the status in a healthy way, adherence to treatment, diet, lifestyle etc
- Supply of rice & health mix powder for those who are not able to earn their livelihood due to deterioration of their health.
- Self Employment – For those require change of work to suit their health condition.
- Education of Children Infected with AIDS & Children Affected AIDS – where the family is too poor to take care of it.
- Housing Assistance – For the rejected from homes specially those with children
- Support Group & Net Work Meetings – for giving current information on the disease, Government schemes for social assistance need for adherence to treatment, side effects of treatment etc.
- Referral Services –
- To hospitals for treatment of opportunistic infections
- To Centers of social assistance (education, nutrition, job placement & rehabilitation)
- To terminal care centers for those who need it

- Dissemination of correct information on Government Schemes
- Ensure treatment adherence
Help Line Service at Government ART Centre, Salem
- To Facilitate speedy and smooth patients care at the centre like issue of treatment cards, follow up of CD4 tests & results, arrangement of documents etc.
- To assist patients to reach other departments
- To identify absentees on daily basis and take follow-up measures
- To give guidance to patients for obtaining bus pass, pension, CD4 results etc.,
Comprehensive Care of People Infected and affected with Leprosy & Tuberculosis
- Awareness Programmes and Early Case detection Leprosy & Tuberculosis cases
- Confirmation of diagnosis of all referred leprosy cases through skin smears
- Sputum examination of suspects for Tuberculosis
- Outpatient & Inpatient Medical Care for those from Salem and neighboring districts
- Directly Observed Treatment of TB patients through our Microscopic Centers
- Supporting 20 bed inpatient care centre for leprosy
- Physio Care to prevent deformity and to prepare for reconstructive surgery
- Regular follow up of patients with bad ulcers
- Management of lepra reaction cases
- Regular follow up of defaulters
- Deformity Prevention and Medical Rehabilitation of known patients with in the district
- Nutritional Support – Nutritious diet to inpatients, Rice and Health Mix powder to disabled leprosy patients and Tuberculosis patients who are too weak to work
- Social Rehabilitation of leprosy & Tuberculosis patients through Self Employment, Housing & Educational assistance to their children.
- Counselling to patients and family members
MCR and Diabetic Footwear Unit
- Production of Micro Cellular Rubber (MCR) footwear for Leprosy patients and special footwear for Diabetic patients
- Production of other footwear based on orders
